Introduction”On a Sunday afternoon, a group of NCCU students conducted street interviews with Filipino migrant workers who were spending their day-off in a park located in Taipei’s Little Manila. That day they shared their migrant stories with us, and now we are sharing these stories to you!” ”Laban Lang” is a word of encouragement in Tagalog that stands for “keep fighting” and “Mi” life stands for migrant life. Our project aims to raise the awareness of Filipino migrant workers and their community in Taiwan. We believe that through our interview videos and posts, NCCU students and the Taiwanese general public can see different sides of the Filipinos, including why migrant workers choose to work in Taiwan and what challenges they face in the process of migration. But there is more than that, including how migrant workers enjoy their leisure time, as well as, practice their culture even in a foreign land like Taiwan. |
