IntroductionThere is a pressing need among Caribbean migrants residing in Taiwan to navigate the challenges of cultural preservation while assimilating into a new cultural environment. The lack of avenues for preserving and celebrating Caribbean identities amid Taiwanese cultural influences risks cultural erosion and identity dilution among the Caribbean migrants. With this in mind, our team, Culture Fusion, decided to conduct a study in which we gauge the effect of migration into Taiwan on the mental health and cultural identities of Caribbean migrants. The group planned to showcase the different celebrations and events hosted by various Caribbean communities in Taiwan that help them to preserve their cultural identities in a foreign land. Individuals who have attended the above-mentioned cultural events were interviewed to give their perspectives on how the events have impacted their lives in Taiwan. |
